I’m a fan of the Air Max Plus, so on this latest retro of the 3rd iteration of the model, I wanted to make sure I had at least one pair. Enter these Nike Air Max Plus 3 Sunset (Pimento), another sale find.
These get their nickname from the colorway which has been used across multiple Nikes over the years.
These ship in a basic orange Nike Sportswear box with basic skinny oval black laces, but no real extras to speak of. These feature plenty of Tuned Air branding throughout the shoe. The original AMP 3 released in 2000, so this is a retro runner 20 years in the making!
This isn’t the type of sneaker I personally need a lot of colorways of, so I wanted to pick one that I knew I’d be down to rock as my one pair of 3s. I think I hit a bullseye for that with these!
How Are The Materials?
These have a mostly plastic and mesh upper, with hits of leather on the tongue tag and mudguard. The quality on all these is what I would call standard fare for a GR retro runner. Nothing fancy or premium. The mesh and plastic areas are pretty much exactly what you would expect, and the leather has a nice look to it but is still thin and does not feel premium. Overall the materials here are adequate.
How Do They Fit?
As usual with these types of Nike runners, true to size works well. I got the same size 10 that I wear in other Air Max as well as the Air Jordan 1 for these Nike Air Max Plus 3 Sunset (Pimento). At that size (true size) these are very comfortable, with a lot of flexibility built into the mostly mesh construction.
